Confirm that the intended Brevard County is in Florida before using BECA

County name alone does not authorize a state assumption

The official sources in this guide are for Brevard County, Florida. If your event, citation or case belongs to a different jurisdiction, do not reuse these routes merely because the county name is similar.

If the state is not confirmed

Resolve it from the event location, known court, citation, arresting agency or case number format before searching a person.

If a different jurisdiction is confirmed

Use that jurisdiction’s court/clerk and criminal-history sources instead of BECA.

Use BECA to locate the case, then decide whether the online view is enough

  1. 01
    Enter the public search

BECA offers a General Public Court Records Search after the user accepts the disclaimer.

  2. 02
    Capture the case identity

Record the case number, court/division, defendant name and key dates. Do not rely on a screenshot that omits the case number.

  3. 03
    Read through the outcome

Move past the initial charge to the docket event or disposition that answers the question. A criminal case can contain amendments, dismissals or later orders.

  4. 04
    Escalate for the record

The Clerk office directory lists Court & Official Records Requests for copies and background-check records, and a Criminal Law department for criminal matters.

Public online access does not mean every court record is displayed

What BECA is

Brevard Clerk describes BECA as online court-record access under Florida Supreme Court administrative authority.

What the clerk maintains

Clerk duties include maintaining criminal felony and misdemeanor court records, along with other court files.

What can be restricted

The clerk states that public inspection applies except to records exempt by statute or judicial order. A missing image can therefore reflect access rules rather than nonexistence.

What a registered role changes

BECA also has registered-user access. Do not assume a general-public account has the same document visibility as every authorized role.

For proof, request the exact court record that resolves the issue

Question Document or office to ask for Why
Was the charge dismissed or resolved? Judgment, disposition, dismissal order or relevant docket filing Shows the court outcome rather than the accusation alone
Need an official/certified copy Court & Official Records Requests through the Clerk Provides a clerk-issued copy when online viewing is insufficient
Need criminal-division help Brevard Clerk Criminal Law Routes a criminal case question to the correct department
Need general case context BECA case search Locates the case before a more specific copy request

Keep the Brevard match tied to the right person and case

  • ✓
    State

Write “Florida” only after the jurisdiction is actually confirmed.

  • ✓
    Case number

Use it as the main key for follow-up with the clerk.

  • ✓
    Court and case type

Felony, misdemeanor and traffic matters can follow different court paths.

  • ✓
    Identity fields

Compare lawful available identifiers and event dates before attributing a common-name result.

  • ✓
    Disposition source

Save the docket event or court document that supports the final conclusion, not only a search-result row.
